The use of "historic" in frum media for things that are almost certainly not historic.

Pretty sure I’ve commented on tipping and mandatory tips in the past, but this one takes the cake:



- Mandatory 18% gratuity! (On a waitered lunch for two)
- The 18% gratuity is calculated after/including tax!
- They tip calculator at the bottom is based on the grand total that includes tax and the mandatory gratuity! If you opt for the “25% tip” option, you end up tipping $35.30 on $71 worth of food, that’s a 49.72% tip!!!

You’re right. Though the tip percentages are based on the grand total that does include the tax and gratuity. The 49.72% is still accurate.
