No, no, it's really me. Benny Friedman, a Yid from Minnesota, who spends his time being misame'ach Yidden. I've been told I look like Dan Eleff, but I think those are just the people who think all Lubabvitchers look the same.

ETA: Whoops, forgot to change accounts.

OTPs that are longer than 6 digits.

Bear with me for a moment.

6 digits is manageable to remember. You glance down at your phone for a second to read it, and you kinda just process it without even really reading the numbers. You naturally split it into two sets of 3 digits in your head, and it's not that hard to remember it that way for a moment. Then you type it into your computer, and you get it right. It just works.

But then along comes a company who thinks they're more secure than everyone else, and they text you an 8-digit code. Good luck glancing at that and then typing it in elsewhere. You're definitely coming back for a second look, either after typing the first part of it into your computer, or after you get the whole thing wrong and have to start again from scratch.

People complaining about pricing of prepared food (takeout, cafes, restaurants).

It's a luxury item and if the amount you're buying is making a difference in your budget then you're buying too much/too often.

That's one perspective, you're going to hear from people who have a different one. :)

Hi {insert wave emoji} Not all takeout is created equal. The local pizza stores or bagel shops in our communities are often catering to the large families where occasionally getting pre-made food is closer to necessity than luxury.

I alluded to this. If the price difference in "occasionally" is making that big of an impact on the budget, then it's being bought too often.

ETA: or the foods being bought were too expensive to begin with. No one is buying a lox and cream cheese sandwich for the entire family.

Chicken poppers small flat container $16 from the supermarket deli, price per pound. Didn't know it's a luxury item but now I know.

Buying prepared food enough that it makes a difference in the budget is definitely a luxury behavior. It doesnt have to be a luxury "item" per say. You can buy enough griven that it puts you in debt too ;)

If circumstances warrant the need to purchase food more than once a month or week, you can't expect the purchases to be pizza and french fries every day, for health reasons and for variety/accounting for individual children's needs. There is a wide range of takeout that is not a luxury in those circumstances and are not "luxury items".

Buying too often is definitely a luxury behavior. I get your point that if you complain "too" much, then you're definitely buying "too" often.
