It costs money to have the turnstile work... So if someone does not wanna pay he has to push in with someone who does pay...

...unless I said that a pet peeve of mine is when people do incorrect or inappropriate things while doing something holy/proper/good and somehow justify the incorrect behavior, e.g. sneaking in to a mikvah without paying to purify yourself...  :o :P

They are saying that it is Toivel Vesheretz...

However, sometimes people...
1. Don't have money with them
2. They overpaid a time before
3. They know the guy will be there later and be able to get change

All valid reasons to squeeze in with someone else.

Those are great Limud Zechusim if you see an individual squeezing through, doesn't change the fact that the majority of the people squeezing through didn't pay and have no intention of paying.

That's besides the point that they are Oiver on Vihyisem Nekiyim and, if they are Talmidey Chachomim, may be Oiver on Chillul Hashem.

Could be this is only in his mosdos though.

He once realized on one of his mikvahs a sign which said If you go to the mikvah without paying it's like toivel vsheretz byudoi, so he said to take it off cause he doesn't want that people should keep back from going to the mikvah just because they can't pay for it.
