All religions consider theirs's the one true religion. If your religion can't respect another religion that says volumes.
I am not a Rabbi, so I can't speak to Jewish law in this regard, neither can I speak on behalf of anyone else here. However, I don't believe this has anything to do with respect; it's about taking extra care avoiding even the tiniest appearance of heresy.
A human being called a God is heresy according to Judaism. So while no one has a problem or issue with any holidays or anyone's celebration of said holidays, some won't even mention the name of an "idol", especially in an honorary way, which would amount to blasphemy in a small way. The same people would have no issue saying Easter, Lent or Ramadan, neither would they avoid saying names like Muhammad, Paul or Peter.
I understand that hearing someone say that calling your God by his name is heresy may be offensive to you. By the same toke, expecting others to use a word or phrase they deem heretic to their beliefs would be equally offensive, at the very least.
