Like whoring, and turning every other thread into a discussion about likes. I'm sick of it.

(I've wanted to post this a million times but always hesitated as it could be seen as an attack on a particular DDFer. So for the record, I am absolutely NOT referring to @YitzyS here. This applies to many, many DDFers and to the "like culture" in general.)

I see my 'obsession' with likes as a DDF gag. Similar to SF being 613 feet tall, or Dan being Benny F. That being said, I agree 100 percent that it's only funny as long is it remains subtle. I sometimes get caught up in it though...

I agree with it, a like has value and it's value is diminished when given excessively, I believe I wrote about it before. I seem to be outnumbered though

Not necessarily.  I use speaker phone when I'm on hold, so while I'm not working efficiently, I feel like I could be.  But when the actual call is endless, for no reason other than bad company bureaucracy I feel trapped.

I work in the background as they type, if they ask me something I'll say "wait one second please"

If you don't want to be nosy, don't ask. IMO. And if the person didn't want to tell you, they won't tell you either way. So what's the point?

Saw your edit: Maybe that was the intention. But then say "I don't want to be nosy but I hope everything's okay"
And leave it at that

Not worth getting into. Something that could mean things aren't okay but really doesn't need to mean that.

My experience is that many people are just waiting for someone to "notice" and ask them and once they do the floodgates open. "I wasn't acting myself the whole day and nobody even noticed and asked me anything!"
