Why does The Lakewood Scoop feel the need to somehow disable copying text from their website?
(Yes, I know you can do it by disabling JavaScript on the site or something like that.)
Anyway:
"Sic" is short for a Latin phrase, and it indicates that you are quoting something in the exact form in which it originally appeared.
It's used to tell the reader that an error in grammar, spelling, or fact was present in the source and did not originate with
you, not to indicate that the quoted person was expressing their own opinion which you are not endorsing by quoting it.
