I called AA and asked if I could get it even though I wasn't targeted, and they said no. So then I showed them how I did it and it seemed to work, but they said I can't. So then I told them that it says on Dansdeals that you could.

I spoke to a CSR, and he said it will work if I fly 4500 qualifying miles from Oct to Dec. Then I will be gold until February of 2015
