We are considering a trip to cuba for 5 days with 2 familys+ mother helper. We have a baby who will 5-6 weeks at travel , is that a risky place for a newborn?

The air quality is absolutely horrendous due to all the old cars and no emissions rules - you will be blowing black stuff out of your nose for a week. That alone would keep me from taking a newborn, personally.

I agree with SF.

Also the medical care there is not what I would want in case of any issues that could arise with a newborn. I wouldn't consider it.

Is cuba still stuck in time or is it more of a tourist trap now?
I'm not who you think I am.

With the new rules writing "support for the Cuban people" is enough for a visa?

just came back from Cuba and the visa process is very easy. Airline handles it. Support for Cuban people and $75(United) gets you in. Cruise ships stop in Cuba so there is no shortage of tourists. US credit cards and ATM cards are still a problem as well as the Dollar exchange penalty. I believe staying at government owned hotels might be an issue but I stayed at an Airbnb.

i stayed very near the Capitol building. Very nice area just outside the old town. Easy walk to the orthodox shul - shacharis every morning(never made it). Staying in a Airbnb is great. They can be very inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Make sure they have AC.
