best way manufacturing AA miles?

Greetings! I'm new to the AAdvantage program and am wondering what's the most cost effective way to manufacture AA miles, apart from getting the Citi AA cards and Fidelity bonuses. Any insights are much appreciated!

-Flying AA, One World or other partner airlines.
-Applying and/or spending on the Citi AA credit card.
-Applying and/or spending on the Amex SPG credit card.
-Shopping through the AAdvantage mall.

If i fly on BA can i put in my AA so i get miles and status on AA?

I wanna go for this gold AA promotion that i was approved for but i had to book my tickets on BA, wondering if i switch the FF# to AA i can get enough miles for gold... Any info would be awesome!

Thanks! These are good ideas, but coming from United MileagePlus, I was more curious to find if there were opportunities to churn at a rate of 5x like what Ink offers. It would seem inefficient to get only 1x or even 2x. Are there anything close to the 5x churn in the AAdvantage world?

Look for a store in their shopping portal offering a good bonus. You never know what you may find.
