I can only find availability on SQ flights (FRA-NYC) but no LH flights or any other partner for that matter. How do i book the TLV-FRA Leg?

It will need to be on LH or on a combination of any other *A parnters that go TLV-XXX-FRA.

You can't search/book partner flights on SQ's website.
Make sure they waive you the phone booking fee since its not bookable online.

If you want to get the 15% online discount, you'll have to make two separate reservations, one for TLV-FRA and the other for FRA-JFK.

If he's booking to separate tickets he may want to consider booking the non SQ leg with other miles, no?

Depends if you're going J or F, how many miles you have with each program etc.

- Its never a good idea to split two segments into two reservations. In case of delays or whatever, they have no responsibility to accommodate you.
But that's up to you to decide vs. the 15% discount (or YQ if you redeem with UA or US).

-However there's an interesting thing with SQ, that if you redeem the first leg (JFK-FRA) on a carrier with no YQ (UA) and its on the same reservation with the second leg (FRA-TLV) on a YQ carrier (LH), the YQ on the second leg will be drastically reduced!
You'll end up paying less $$ on the full trip (JFK-FRA-TLV) than on a single half reservation (FRA-TLV)!

FRA-TLV (LH) = $145
JFK-FRA-TLV (UA+LH) = $132

You see? Its cheaper when you add the first leg.

Its not as drastically as I've seen a few months ago, but its still cheaper.

That's not YQ, that's just lopping off some German origin taxes.

My mistake.

I booked R class JFK-FRA for 58k, and FRA-TLV with UA miles for 27.5k and about $100 airport taxes and $75 close-in.
If I would have booked the entire trip with SQ, it would have been only 75k miles, and the FRA-TLV taxes would have only been with about $25 more

And you wouldn't get charged the $75 close-in fee.
