Eh...I'm fairly confident you won't lose your connection, but I don't think it's an Apple connection the way you mean it.
Apple does serve as a routing point for certain things, such as push notifications and app updates, but they're always doing it over someone else's network. They don't have their own data connection to your phone. So your phone must be connected over a wifi network, or Vodaphone's prepaid network. In other words, if you remove your sim, you'll notice the connection is completely terminated, because its probably the Vodaphone network your data is coming over.
That being said if you didn't want to be charged for the data, you could always turn off cellular data in your settings. Then no data except over wifi would go in or out.
What type of phone? Did you try calling Sprint and asking them to unlock it for international use like PETERP above?
Sprint will unlock it , if you have an account in good standing
That's what I meant by Apples server . They operate face time over their on server or something like
That that obviously runs on the backbone of the Internet
Emails and DDF is the main reason I like to be connected even in between wifi hot spots . So if i suspend my Sprint service , do the emails stop getting pushed or fetched depending on how i set it ?
I have cellular data on , but data roaming off . Fairly confident the data was received using my
Prepaid SIM card connection , and Vodaphone forgot to tell me but was wondering does the Sprint
Account provide the gateway .
Prolly not as my Ipad pushes emails with no net provider
