ANA question
« on: September 30, 2013, 09:07:27 AM »
Can I use ANA miles to book on Aircanada, which I see availability for on the UNited website or will I get charged fuel surcharge? Is it just united and usairways or their partners also?

Thanks!

Not news, I've been blogging about that for years.  Only catch is you're generally limited to UA/US unless you want to pay $$$$.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

No one. It takes a little while. It's posted somewhere when you can expect them to post

Would it be a good idea to book ANA NYC - TLV ?
Airlines sending me "We're in this together" emails.

Bruh, where were you when my suitcase weighed it 51.50 pounds?

There's a bunch of differences.

SQ allows OW and not ANA.

ANA is cheaper if booking round trip.

ANA you can book online and not SQ.

Amex usually transfers over night to SQ and could take a couple days to ANA.

Just to name a few.....

Would it be a good idea to book ANA NYC - TLV ?
If UA or US has availability...

The problem is that with UA NYC- TLV your best bet is very close in, so i you're using ANA you may not have enough time to transfer-additionally you need to book RT.

US opens up in advance.

Also, if flying UA Y, you stand a stand a chance.

UA isn't US!
Even UA Y is difficult, and who's flying economy.

Where do you see anyone talking specifically about UA and also no one mentioned business here.
Would it be a good idea to book ANA NYC - TLV ?
Meaning, using ANA miles to fly NYC-TLV, whether it's UA/US or Y/J.

I never mentioned anything about US all I was telling him is that it would be difficult to book UA via ANA. Check UA's calendar you'll find very few seats even in Y. I was kidding about no one flying Y.

I know, he asked

And you answered

It seems from your answer, that UA is the only way to fly using ANA and it wont work because of timing.

Which I replied

US opens up in advance.

Also, if flying UA Y, you stand a stand a chance.
Meaning, it's not true, as there are other ways to use ANA miles fly (US) or Y (yes, I've seen seats open up a week in advance) and make it work.

Makes sense...

While we could all agree that ANA is not ideal for last minute booking because of the time it takes to transfer from AMEX, you still get fly NYC- TLV  on UA/US for 90,000 miles.

If you can pull it off it's great. I guess it would be more ideal via US.
