Continental Airlines is matching your elite status earned on other Airlines (up to Platinum Level) for Free
All you have to do is prove that you are currently elite on another airline. Upgrade/match is good til Feb 2012

This nice especially if you are gonna lose your status this year.

Continental will match you...up to Platinum status. It is generally recommended that you e-mail them.

Fax, email, or mail the following information:
Full Name
OnePass Account Number
Current Address
Current Phone Number
A copy of the most recent statement from the other airline showing status and current mileage
A copy of your current elite card from the other airline

Send to:
OA Match Request
P.O. Box 4757
Houston, TX 77210-4757
Fax: 713-324-3702
onepass@coair.com

Subject: OA Match

This is what's known as a status match and has been around for years. Many other airlines do it as well. Just if you're status matching, be sure to ask the ailine when it will be valid until. Sometimes if you do it before June it'll only be valid until the following February but after June will be valid for a year and a half.

I know Continental only does this once, BUT, Continental ain't gonna be around too much longer! Doesn't it make sense to do it know, before they merge with UAL?

i was wondering that...anyone have thoughts? If you match to CO, you should still be able to match to UA after the merger, right?

I don't think there's any way to know...
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I agree, especially no one knows when Both programs will offically merge into 1, and as of yet the Feds havent given thier blessing on the Merge either. So if the merge doesnt take place until after 2/12 then getting the comped status now will be of little help . Of cause if they merge the programs by 2/12 then status should carry forward.

Just too many unknows at this time and most likely will remain that way for the foreseeable future as well, as they have alot more headaches to worry about then just merging the frequent flyer programs. Keep in mind that Chase hasnt sent out any notice of the UA CC going bye bye either as of yet

If they say its OK to fax a copy of both sides of your Elite Card then it should work, if they want an actual statement then Id think No Way Hosea

Remember they are trying to secure the Biz you are giving the other Carrier. No Biz to the other Carrier means none to them as well in their mind

I got a degree in status match with CO (ask dan), but have way too little time for it.

Try to use programs that have a plat level, as programs that don't have this term, and might call it diamond level or so, you will probably end with CO gold.

Ms paint isn't good enough.
