Costco American Express Card Approval

Hello Everyone,

This is my first time posting here. I tried searching the site for this topic but wasn't successful in finding an answer so please forgive me if I missed it.

Would anyone know if a Costco member will always be approved for the Costco Amex card or the Costco membership doesn't affect the approval at all?

Why would you waste an application for that card though?

I have Costco Membership and my score isn't too great, figured this might be a way for me to get an Amex...
