i ordered something on amazon and add 1 point to take advantage of the 40% off promo. when I log on to my AmEx account I noticed that the entire charge was billed to pay with points.
I chatted with Amazon and they were unable to change the charge the only option offered was to cancel the order which I did not want to do.
I then called Amex and after explaining that I did not want to cancel the order they were able to charge me the amount owed and refunded all of the points
