I've been to Cork & Slice 3 times. It truly is a beautiful place.

1st time: Appetizers and drinks went smoothly, and then 3 out of the 5 of us got our mains. The other 2 waited... and asked... and waited... and asked... and waited... approximately 30 minutes after the 1st 3 of us were served, the other 2 finally got their dishes, 1 fish and 1 pizza... and they were both cold. Luckily they weren't so hungry anyway by now.

Every place makes mistakes, right? And it was in their first week of being open, so let's cut them some slack, right?

2nd time: Just the wife and I. My pizza was delicious, but my wife's main (I think it was gnocchi) legit tasted spoiled. We each took 1 bite and didn't touch it again,

OK, let's give it one more shot, maybe we don't have refined enough palates for their gnocchi.

3rd time: We're 3 couples this time. Horrified look from the waitress when asked if they had hot chocolate. Sneering "we have fingerlings" when asked if they have french fries". For mains, we order 3 pizzas, a salad, a pasta, and a fish dish. Appetizers and drinks come out within a few minutes. Then a couple pizzas and the pasta. 5-10 minutes later the fish comes out. Where is our salad and last pizza? Another 5 minutes go by and finally the salad comes out, but still missing a pizza. No idea how much longer went by or how many times we were told just another minute, but we finally just cancelled that last pizza. More time was wasted when our bill came and that missing pizza hadn't been taken off.

There won't be a 4th time.

I asked for Hot Chocolate last time I was there and got it. And been there several times and no snootiness from them. High end dairy places don't have to serve french fries. Don't see the issue with that

They don't have to serve you anything, but IME, and others in this thread too, they are extremely arrogant and unpleasant about it.

Where is Giant Bagel? You would (or easily could) pass DD from FR.

Coming from FR I and I would assume everyone would go straight up 878. So in theory you could. "easily" depends on time. Burnside and rockaway turnpike from DD to costco can be a nightmare at some times and quite frankly not worth it....

If you want to strictly stay on course from the 878 there is no place you can go so DD or Giant Bagel are your closet options Giant Bagel being better since it's much closer to the 878 then DD and the parking lot is usually less crowded the dd's.

How about seasons express?
or that bagel  place on rockaway?

Seasons express is a good option for extremely overpriced pre-packaged items but if your looking to stay in fr (although it's technically in Lawrence) that would be your best bet and you would avoid the traffic of DD or giant bagel.

the bagel  place on rockaway  - see a couple of posts above
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.
