True. I've lived in the FTs for the last 7 years. Having grown up in NNJ, I would say the best by far is Chopstix in Teaneck
Best value for $$ is def New Kosher Special in Elizabeth.
Best overall is David Chu's in Baltimore.

IMO there is not a big difference between Chinese food. It all pretty much tastes the same everywhere. I go to the cheapest place

I saw last night that work finally started on seasons express by pick wick. Bulldozer finally demolished whatever it was that was there, a really, really old service station.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Anyone stay at the Long Beach Hotel? Impressions and tips appreciated. Also interested in any ways to get discounted rates (compared to their site).

Don't know anyone who's gone there by choice. People rent it out for Simchas etc but never heard of anyone going for fun. You'd be better off at the Allegria

The benefit of the long beach hotel is that it has a kosher restaurant on location. However, I've eaten there and to be honest it was nothing special.   On top of that, the hotel is not even on the beach, it's one or two blocks away. I second the opinion that you're better off at the Allegria.

Another benefit of the Allegria is that on Thursday nights during football season you can spot the Yeshiva boys standing on the boardwalk watching TNF through the windows.

Menu is small, but food is pretty good actually.

And just like that - Courtside is closed. That was quick.

http://yeahthatskosher.com/2017/03/5-towns-courtside-grill-has-closed-will-reopen-under-new-management/

Under current management. Yes. Re-opening soon though. (Not that I ever enjoyed their food much)

I figured I was gonna get that response. Im pointing out that it was quick for a management/ownership team to go down that quick, especially with a concept that anyone would think would succeed in a place like the 5 towns.

Since when is the restaurant industry success rate based on logic?

open right the first time and it can succeed. Guys had no concept of the food industry and it showed top to bottom. Not sure what new owners have up their sleeves but lets hope they do it right.

Same with 550. They renovated the store perfectly, teased people with what they had opening for years....Then they served sub par food with average service (I tried it twice and underwhelmed twice).....Don't see a future in that spot.
