We needed a bingo or moishas to come to the area and give GG some competition

KRM/ Moishes almost opened here. GG paid them off not to.

Some Community Leaders even got involved and begged GG to make shopping more affordable. They promised to open an affordable store. That's where KolSave came in. GG was afraid someone will get a competitor to move in, so they were "forced" to open an affordable store.

But now they keep on upping the prices. They make you feel like your shopping at Aldi's with no selection and generic brands. Prices are only normal on sale items. But since they are cheaper then the other places in town, they can claim to be saving you money.

When GG has competition, they behave. Look at the Lakewood prices. This week, for example, Normans Greek Yogurts in Lakewood GG 89 cents. Here it is 5 for 6 dollars. There is no competition and they take advantage big time.

Look at the prices from the add from BINGO Lakewood! They have the same yogurts for 25 cents! This is what we need here!

There are options here to save money like Frankels and kolsave. They are not nearly as busy as Gourmet Glatt is.

what's the deal with the 6th town. anyone have a link to a real fair and balanced synopsis (all the local cheap papers are contradictory, esp as to what the golf course is actually zoned for).

what the heck are you saying? many (most?) 5t ppl need a more affordable option. kol save is a garbage store. purposely done that way. prices are spotty. they are not incentivized to make it a good cheap store like bk stores.


its a great business strategy. monopolies are quite profitable. im not saying i wouldn't do the same if i was him, but its crushing the community. I cannot wait for bingo or similar to demolish them.

Hi, I need an apartment to rent asap in 5towns, preferably Cedarhurst. Anyone have anything? Already spoke to brokers, they've got nothing. I checked 5towns shul list, nothing.

I'm looking for a 1 bedroom, though at this point I would take a 2, even 3 bedroom apartment, as long as the rent isn't too high. I have to move because my lease is up and I've been searching for an apartment for a month already.

Anyone have anything, or can help point me in the right direction?

The way bingo and krm are able to make it with their prices is with major amounts of people shopping there. They work off of bulk sales. They will not have those numbers from the amount of people in the 5 towns that want that kind of store. The best proof of this is Brachs which tried to run that type of store and folded.

right. meant to ask, what's the benefit to current homeowners?

seems like there arent any so of course i want to fight it. but there is no real synopsis of the current state of affairs on the county websites and reporting is contradictory. if the golf course was always zoned with an allowance to convert to housing then we would have a much weaker say in stopping it (though we could still argue environmental etc), but if its not zoned for the housing they want (or was changed to accomodate the developers looking for a steal in 2016, prob based on someone getting paid off) then the community should have strong arguments to deny any change to the zoning that is detrimental without the developers offsetting the negatives with positives (like funding a new park rather than the politicians letter to me asking me to pay 4K more in taxes a year for a park).
