Would be nice if you would one time provide a shred of evidence for all of the garbage that you spew on here.
Where is your evidence that he was the only one to give heter arkoas?
And BTW, you are not allowed to believe media to slander a Rov anyway.
As a side point, the Vaad is not actually run by any local Rabbi. It's run by two people, mainly one person, who doe not live here. The local Rabonim do not know all the daily ins and outs of what goes on.
One of those people opened a competing supervision elsewhere, and nobody stopped him. Only here competition is not a good thing.
I respect you for following your Rabbi, whoever that might be. But there are many Rabonim in town, many who do not use social media, nor do their followers. There are diverse opinions, and each person has to listen to their Rabbi.
I assume you have a close kesher with your Rov, as it seems you know his opinions. I also do.
I also have connections and dealings with other non local Vaadim. There are many standards in Kashrus, when to rely on what, as in many aspects of Halacha. For example, some people eat only Cholov Yisroel and Pas Yisroel. Some only eat Yoshon. Some rely on heter mechira. Some will not allow a mechalel Shabbos or non Jew to have access to kitchen. Some (even Vaad and also OU prefers) only eat Tuna with Mashgiach Temidi and bishul Yisroel.
There is a wide spectrum in Halacha. Some use a city Eruv, and some accept the Mishnah Beruras stringency not to.
Everyone agrees we need different schools in town. Someone who sends their children to Siach Yitzchok would not be comfortable with the standards in HALB. And the other way is also true.
Some women wear short sleeves and pants, while others require their 7 year old daughter's to wear knee socks.
BH we have a very diverse crowd here. As long as everyone follows their Rabbi, they are good.
But the same way we need different schools and different shuls, we also need different Kashrus standards. You might eat from a particular shechita, while I might prefer another.
Besides, competition is always good. It is true for schools, shuls, and Kashrus. When there is competition, each side is always working to improve. Without competition, nobody is on their toes.
Nobody I know says the Vaad is no good. They have their standard which is acceptable to many. But there is a nice crowd here that what something more. They want a Lakewood standard, or Chasidishe hidurim.
What makes people upset is, that if a store goes under KUPK or Mehlman, the Vaad is fine with that. They don't view them as a competition. They don't put out letters about those establishments, even though they hold you cannot eat there . But if a store goes under a competing Hechsher, they destroy the store. That's what makes people frustrated.
