Anyone know what they are building by the 878 behind/near the garden center? It's massive and it looks like they are even building a road leading up to it.
yea that thing shocked me when i passed by and suddenly this building is up.
Sort of like Rambam High School on Rockaway and Mott
All the local gas stations started charging $.10 more for cc
Went to 550 recently. Was excellent...but empty. Not sure why it's not more popular. Food is great and priced relatively decently. 2 apps, 1 steak, 1 dessert, 1 drink ~180 with tip
I used to love that place. Food was great (best meat pizza i ever had), cocktails were amazing (still are), prices were great and loved the ambiance. When new owners took over, food went downhill and prices went up a lot. Would love if they can turn it around again. The other restaurants are all very similar, noisy/party places, this was a great place to go for good food with a more relaxed setting.
I went there several times since they changed ownership and had the same experiences as you. Great food, decent prices, and not so loud that I could hear my wife talk from across the table without her having to raise her voice (obviously that is due to the lack of customers). My guess is that they do well on Thursdays and Fridays with takeout, boards, etc. Otherwise I have no clue how they are surviving. They also never advertise.

the takeout is probably the best in the neighborhood, and its great that they also show up on ubereats if u suddenly get more guests coming etc and they will send over extra fingers/chummus (both the best in 5t imho). i think part of the issue is their takeout became too good and people who get takeout there want something different when going out for a special occasion.
