conveniently right before the elections. that is definitely a more important topic than the meters but i still think people are po'ed enough that they will still lose.

To quote it perfectly from a friend of mine in a whatsapp group:

How convenient that they announced this two days prior to the election, what about having the village vote on whether or not the residents want those stupid meters

Don't have an informed opinion on the new meters, but the open letter by the Mayor in the jewish home this week really made the "store owners of Cederhursts" letter look childish.
Also gota give Props on the placement right opposite the letter from the store owners of Cederhurst.

Cmiiw but their 2 main concerns are that the meters alert meter maids as soon as a meter is out of time and that when a car leaves a spot the meter returns to empty so that the next car doesnt get free time.
Neither of these seem so drastic, from what I remember,  the meter maids were on top of you minutes after your meter ran out of time even before these new meters were put in.
As for a new car not being able to use the time leftover from the previous car, thats nothing new. In all of nyc its like that with the use of muni meters.
In fact the old meter system kept me from viaiting cederhurst on occasion bc they only took quarters.
I suspect the store owners are upset about something else. Perhaps they used to park their cars in a spot and leave it there all day feeding the meter every 2 hours which they can no longer do.

Is this only going to be on central itself or even in the parking lots ? I.e.: across from dave's or by GG/cvs

So apparently it is illegal for meters to issue tickets in nys so the new meters don't. They do alert the meter maid though

No thread for this, but closest I can think of is the 5 towns thread... New shwarma place opening up in West Hempstead next to Bageltown called Oma's grill

The web site says only open for supper. What hashgacha does it have?

What places are there in Hempstead that are open for lunch? And under which hashgachas?

Looks like Oma's Grill closed - https://www.facebook.com/Omasgrill/photos/a.642429112564785.1073741829.545115185629512/674033009404395/?type=3&theater. Seems like Oma's Sushi is opening after Pesach.

There's a bagel store called Bagel Town - https://www.facebook.com/BagelTownwh/. It is under the Vaad of Queens.

There's Wing Wan (chinese and sushi) - http://www.wingwankosherrestaurant.com/

There's Hunkie's (pizza) http://hunkiskosherpizza.com/
