thanks

But in my humble opinion Cork and Slice is much better in all respects and roughly the same price.

Cork and slice in my opinion is a joke. And the menu is really really small.

Never realized that there was so much hate on this thread for C&S! I feel like there is very little at Upper Crust which I cannot prepare myself in my kitchen, whereas C&S makes basically everything from scratch. Their menu might be limited, but I prefer quality over quantity.

I agree that they used to be pretty snobbish like they were some Michelin restaurant on Madison Avenue, but I think that they got over that.

But don't get me wrong, upper crust is good too.

I went with 6 people, no one was satisfied. We had salads, pizza, fish. It was average at best. That combined with the fact that they think they are some big foodie place, makes it a no go for me. Just my opinion. And the other five people who were there with me.

I went to C&S Sunday night and while it was definitely pricey, the quality was very high and they use ingredients that I've never seen a restaurant in the 5towns use before. It felt more like being in Manhattan than on Long Island. The service and ambience were especially noteworthy. That bathroom is something else! It's like being in a sauna on a ski resort or something. Upper Crust just feels like any other milchig place a la Central Perk or Sunflower Cafe.

I remember when upper crust opened. Everyone thought how crazy over the top and expensive it was. Now it's considered second tier.

Everything around it . Upper crust is still great place . 5t in general is very trendy, always trying to up the class and somewhat competitive .

If the 5ter will pay it they'll charge it. Simple manipulative biz strategy. Everybody wants to make money

C & S is a nice change from the same milchig fare the 5 towns has settled on over the last decade. yes it is pricey but its nice to actually get that Manhattan feel with only a 5 minute ride.

On the same menu note, I heard Liquidz & Saladz (Worst name ever) shut down. Only went once and was completely underwhelmed. Not worth fighting that parking lot for average food.

I just dont understand how people pay higher prices for such small portions. First I want to say how dejavu the comment i quoted is. Literally "C&S doesnt do this C&S doesnt do that yada yada.."

So I ordered a pasta. I couldn't care less about how and what the noodle is made of if im going to leave hungry, which I did. And for anyone who says order more - save it. Im not rich, but I would like to think im entitled to going out and enjoying myself (which includes filling up) from time to time and not get obliterated at the bank.

I consider myself to a be a hearty eater, but I've never left C&S hungry after ordering pasta, but maybe for some reason you received a small portion than usual. In my experience, they are at least as generous as Ve Benne or Noi Due.

What a hearty eater is up for interpretation. I consider my self one as well. I'm completely unbiased towards C&S. I dont know if you all know what went down around chanukah time with them and a customer regarding their service, but i was there shortly afterwards. The service was all over the place(not good), but they took care of everyone eventually with some sort of compensation, which i felt they did a great job at.

Decor speaks for itself.

I really want to like the place and go back but I just can't go back to places I leave hungry from. Same reason I won't go back to Bedford. Great food, but only two bites of it.

That back and forth of the incident was pretty great to sit back and read.

Link?

I once left c&s and got a burger from ABC after ;D

I loved when they imported bread Smith from Brooklyn. Stopped pretty soon though
