I change every 6-8 months. I'm thinking about adding another 2 step so I can do 10mm, 5mm and 1mm sediment into a 1mm charcoal so I don't have to change as often. I change myself. About 70 bucks for both
Any specific reason you chose not to install a self-backwashing filter?

As I understand it, they clean themselves and dont require filter changes. Haven't done in-depth research into it yet. Will get to it one day.

Do these home energy reports that nat grid keep sending me via email and snail mail mean anything?

Am I supposed to be doing anything with them?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Went into the LA fitness sign up place today to check out the deals. I'm interested in joining the gym because the location is great. But was unimpressed with the offer. They call it a signature location and charge more but the guy said there's no reason that this one is a signature one. They have a pool but other than that it's a standard gym. They charge for towel service which is ridiculous. They are offering the membership for $99 initiation fee and then $45 monthly with a $40 annual fee (first one is 2 months after joining). Secondary members save on the initiation fee.
The guy said that they plan on opening this Friday and after that the rates will go up.

I also went in there. Im not sure if those guys were just bluffing. They seemed like salesmen to me. My guess is that it will hurt Club Central because gyms like retro and NYSC are still much cheaper

they are salesmen. One guy told me that this is the 4th gym he's traveled to to recruit for before they open. And they weren't particularly good salesmen either.
The way i see it, it's not cheap enough to really challenge the low end gyms and it's not good enough to attract the members of the boutique and high end gyms. They're going to have to come down on price at some point

They'll have to advertise . When I tell people skewers closed they didn't even know it existed (like that steak House all the way down Broadway near td)

don gaucho. Didn’t hear very good reviews about that place.

Also the yeshivish yeshiva in young Isreal Far rockaway bought a warehouse on redfern Ave hoping to build a building there... :-X
It would be great to expand there but I hope it’s safe enough (read: it’s not)

i think redfern housing is a lot worse-but I hear you. There is a relatively nice park on that street so that’s a plus for the yeshiva which has no grounds at all now.

not so sure about redfern being worse. The stories my friends tell me....Like one neighbor who use to throw his pitbull over the fence.

I'm pretty sure all most of the public housing back there has been bought out by a frum person. Inwood is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods around here now. And it's still relatively affordable. It's going to eventually fill on from across Burnside/Sheridan till Far Rockaway. It's already being bought out by frum, even pretty close to those projects.

The ne restaurant is also not too far from Inwood, Cedarhurst, and North Lawrence. They just have to advertise so people know they are there.
