I’m surprised this topic didn’t get more coverage here. I’m up the block from all this excitement . Got a video of one suspect arrested and there were 3 helicopters overhead at one point. They caught the suspects I’m unsure if they got all of them though.

2 young children were reportedly told by some of the armed men they’re not going for them don’t worry, they’re only aiming for the police 😳.

 We have received several inquiries about a flyer circulating in social media announcing rally that will purportedly take place in Cedarhurst Park on Sunday at 2 pm.
 
The flyer doesn’t identify a sponsor or organizer and we believe that it is a hoax.  The Village has not granted anyone a permit for such an event and the Village will not allow it to take place.
 
The Police have been notified and they are working on tracking down where the flyer originated.  Anyone attempting to organize this rally in our Park is subject to arrest and we will enforce the law to its fullest extent.

To Lawrence Village Residents:
Many of you have expressed concern about a demonstration scheduled for this Sunday, June 7.
Please note the following:The Mayors of both Lawrence and Cedarhurst, together with the Commanding Officer of the 4th Precinct, NCPD Commissioner’s Office and Homeland Security, have conferred directly with the organizers who are residents of both villages.

• The demonstrators will consist of less than fifty recent high-school graduates pledged to a peaceful demonstration in support of the right of free speech.

• Marchers will be confined to the sidewalk with hand-held signs only and no loud speakers.

• They will start at 2:00pm and will walk from Cedarhurst Village Hall down Central Avenue, then onto Rockaway Turnpike to Peninsula Boulevard, back to Cedarhurst Village Hall and are expected to conclude at 3:30pm.

• Participants will be under police escort and observation at every point in the march to ensure that they do not interfere with either pedestrian nor vehicular traffic.

• Participants have been advised that, while their right to assemble will be respected, any deviation from the plan or misconduct or violation of law will result in legal action.

• We have been assured that police protection is constant, continuous and present, and are confident that our community is safe and secure.

No sign though. Spotted Rabbi Trump there too. I wud love to see ppls reaction if the marchers knew what his name was they estimated 50 ppl lol turned out approx.300 ppl. Was peaceful and a good handful of jews there (I was one of maybe 2 white shirts  )
One (peurto rican looking) guy started walking w a maga hat. The crowd didn’t like that 😂.

 one lady stopped me before i joined the march and said if i understood what black lives matter stood for i wudnt join. full disclosure, i didnt join for any particular cause, rather to walk w the community at a community-wide(and beyond apparently) event. I did feel a little uncomfortable walking directly behind the guy w the huge BLM flag who i was near most of the time. I tried moving over a little
