2 corrections. The above picture is from the past year, not the past month. Maran said "יישן ולא יקום". Precisely what happened.
It's heartwarming to hear these things from someone on the opposite side of the Chareidi world. It's good to know there is still some אחדות left in Klal Yisrael.
Not the opposite side at all. Now it was very heartwarming to see the Litvishe Gedolim bury the hatchet in the past few years.
Not opposite as in opposing, just the far side. Am I wrong? Are you a Sfardi Belzer chosid?
In Belz, Sefardim and Ashkenazim aren't considered 2 sides. There was a mutual friendship between my Rebbe and Maran that was in part because my Rebbe loved Sefardim as much as Ashkenazim before it was popular. My Rebbe also learned with Harav Ovadia many decades ago in the Kaballah Yeshiva of Hagaon Hakadosh R' Mordechai Shar'abi zt"l (a yemenite).
maybe the sephardim can clarify this for me.was his last name ovadia or yosef?his sons all have the last name yosef, but his brother who died in the last few weeks had a last name of ovadiahttp://www.theyeshivaworld.com/article.php?p=187963

BDEi regret never making the effort to meet him
I'm not a Sephardi. I'm allowed to answer? http://www.kikarhashabat.co.il/22208.html
It was the right thing to do, even if it's not politically correct.
