T-Mobile Free calls and data in foreign countries including israel

Any help here?
I got my Sprint iPhone unlocked and got the Tmobile sim and put it in, but it says 'sim not valid' and I can't even access the homescreen, just this error message. Tmobile reps don't understand what's wrong. 3 Sprint reps said 3 different things: 1) No idea what's wrong. 2) Tmobile sim and really any domestic carrier's sim will NEVER work in a Sprint phone; my unlocking was for int'l use which means only for local int'l companies' sims 3) It won't work in US, but once I go abroad, it'll start working.

Any tips? I'm kinda scared to just go abroad and *hope* it works.

Yes. When you're abroad, the sim becomes an abroad sim card.

As long as you did the unlock properly than your phone should work overseas.
Though I don't have exp using a Tmobile SIM over there.

Mine's an iPhone 5. Sprint said this is an unlock for int'l use only. Rep specified that only 256K sim cards will work, which from what I've learned is the type of sim you can get in foreign countries, but Tmobile rep wasn't sure if their sims are 256K.

Ended up borrowing a friend's old Tmobile Galaxy Exhibit. Good thing because it worked in US and when I just landed in MUC. Unfortunately, I tried putting the sim into my Sprint iphone when I landed and it still said "sim not valid".

Update: Tmobile sim didn't work in my Sprint iPhone even out of the country. Good thing I had my friend's old Tmobile phone although I really didn't like it - no autocorrect, would lose data randomly and I realized my Vonage account for calling was on my iPhone. Was carrying around 2 phones yesterday and spent a ton of time at night talking to Tmobile/Sprint/Apple and no one could figure it out.

Ended up just paying Sprint $40/mo for 40 MB of data roaming (opted for no calling/texting plan as I have Vonage/iMessage/Whatsapp. Now it all works fine bh

I suspected a tmobile sim would not work regardless of where you were. Sprint phones don't accept the sim itself and location is not a factor
