Upcoming Hyatt Hotels

-Park Hyatt NYC slated for completion in mid-2014, the hotel will feature 210 generously sized guest rooms including 62 suites.

-Park Hyatt Montego Bay Jamaica-2014 (reflag/renovated from Ritz)

-Hyatt Place Flushing/LaGuardia Airport 2014

-Andaz Tokyo 2014

-Hyatt House San Juan 2014.

-Construction of Hyatt South Beach is expected to begin in late 2013, and the hotel is slated to open in 2015.

-Grand Hyatt Rio De Janeiro 2015

-Park Hyatt S. Kitts 2015

-Andaz Mayakoba 2015

-Hyatt Montevideo 2015.

-Park Hyatt Doha 2016

-Hyatt is pleased to announce three Hyatt-branded hotels under development in Africa.
Hyatt Dakar will be the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Senegal, and is expected to open in 2016.
Park Hyatt Zanzibar, expected to open in 2014, and Hyatt Regency Arusha, expected to open in 2016, will be located in Tanzania. These two properties will join the Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, The Kilimanjaro.

Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Costa Rica accepting reservations from 12/20.
Hyatt category 6. (22K/room, 33K/suite)
Located on the west coast, 30 minutes from LIR.
"Two secluded powdery beaches in a calm shore are the perfect setting for relaxation or water adventure."

Was announced in 2010 that a 2013 opening was planned...impressive.

I just tried upgrading my room at the brand new Andaz In Costa Rica, and the agent told me that in addition to using 6000 points i would need to pay $450 per night :'(! I spoke to 3 different agents and they all said the same thing. Has anyone ever heard of needing to pay plus use points to upgrade?

You'd have to imagine you'd pay a premium over at least a category 6-probably even over a category 7. My guess is 35K.

I'm also surprised the PH MLE is staying a cat 6.  These things can be unpredictable.
But I'd say 25K, 30K, or 35K are the probable price points.
