Don't know if this is the right place for this, but what's the deal with Hyatt Vacation Club? Hyatt lists prices in points for various 'rooms' to stay at these properties, and the numbers seem very low (link). Are these available to be booked with points for any HGP member? I assume there are differences between their hotels and these 'residences', especially with regard to service, but it still seems like a good option for a lot of situations. Looks like there's one opening next to the Hyatt Regency Maui this year, and there are a bunch of them in ski towns in Colorodo.

I decided to stop being so lazy search the wider web. Some pretty good info here on using Hyatt points at Hyatt Residence Club properties. Bottom line, it sounds like it can in fact be a stellar value in the right situations, but availability is very limited and only accessible by calling in. Still, if you're going somewhere that has one and you want a full kitchen and/or multiple bedrooms, it seems to me like it's at least worth calling in to check.

You can pick that also. The best factoring in convenience , cause wife and I can't SchLepp much stuff
anymore.

There is a Hyatt Place opening in Shenzhen on June 15th 2014. I already booked a night there... Do you have any more info about the Park Hyatt opening in Shenzhen? Do you know the location?

Found the info. Most websites are saying that it will be the second Hyatt in Shenzhen which is wrong. It will be the third. There are two in the Luohu district: Grand Hyatt (very close to Chabad and Chabad has a great rate there) and starting June 15th there will be a Hyatt Place in Dongmen which is also in Luohu.

"Park Hyatt Shenzhen, Futian will be situated in the center of Futian's central business district in Shenzhen, adjacent to the Convention and Exhibition Center. Expected to open in 2018, Park Hyatt Shenzhen, Futian will have 223 luxury rooms and suites, multiple restaurants and bars, a spa and fitness center and multi-functional event facilities. The hotel will be located on top of the 1,148-foot south tower, and will be adjacent to the 2,021-foot north tower of the Ping’An Financial Centre, which is expected to be the tallest building in Shenzhen."

In that immediate area there are many top hotels such as the Shangri-La Futian, the Sheraton, the Ritz Carlton, the J.W. Marriott, the V Hotel, the Four Seasons and many others I cannot remember offhand.
