News in general is different than private conversations in hilchos L"H, how else would it be allowed to talk about any number of public disgraces. I'm not claiming to be right in halacha, only saying what iv'e heard.

I'm sure you are a good person, but without hearing from ME about why he retracted the deal it's hard to believe you and borders on L"H IMHO. As for R' Belsky, does he hold in forced gittin?

As for forced Gitten. All Poskim agree that even if a get can be forced, it can only be done if Bais Din concludes and paskens that he's  "chayav legarsho" - that he must divorce her. No such Psak was forthcoming in my case. So, yes, a forced get would have been invalid. Potential children would have been mamzeirim

Secondly, I don't see how you can compare and equilibrate rabbi Belsky's opinion's to that of ME. I'll take a random example. Most Torah Jews in NYC filter their water, because of the microscopic bugs found in there. The opinion of most Poskim is that this should be done. Many do not filter their water, because Rabbi Belsky paskened that it is not problematic.

Quite clearly, no one considers ME's opinion in this matter. If Rabbi Belsky would not have issued a lenient psak, and ME did issue a lenient psak, still - no one would take notice of ME's psak. ME is not in any way considered equal to Rabbi Belsky.

Beis din, and rabbonim in general, are not supposed to be on anyone's 'side'. They should be looking to resolve the situation in accordance with halacha as they understand it. Yet often in these cases it seems everyone has a 'side', and the halacha part is molded to fit that 'side'.

I just want to clarify that Rabbi Belsky was clearly not on anyone's side - other than G-d's side; the side of halacha, halacha that G-d gave us. I received a severe tongue-lashing from Rabbi Belsky when I made a nasty remark to ME. I felt he deserved it, and Rabbi Belsky felt it was wrong and let me have it - in a very big way.

If I may ask you, why didn't you just give her the Get without any strings attached, and then enforce the court order re visitation rights by the authorities?

Yes. The Rama paskens (some say it's just advice) that a get should not be given until the issues are settled. Rabbi Belsky agreed with this. (And he has a name of being sided towards women!) Being that my ex challenged the court order, and refused to comply with it, all issues had not been settled. According to the Rama I was to wait.

I'd imagine that if a guy were nasty enough to withhold a get, that they'd have no problem blowing the cover off of all this. How did this not publicly not come out until now?

For one thing, it seems they were pretty careful about not leaving evidence. (though apparently they weren't all that careful in who they told that they were careful not to leave evidence...)
