Mint.com
Mint.com is a free web-based personal financial management service for the US and Canada

Description
Mint's primary service allows users to track bank, credit card, investment, and loan transactions and balances through a single user interface as well as make budgets and goals. In 2009, it was acquired by Intuit

price
Free

Security
Mint asks users to provide both the user names and the passwords to their bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts, which then Mint stores in their databases in a decryptable format. This has raised concerns that if the Mint databases are ever hacked, both user names and passwords would become available to rogue 3rd parties. Some banks support a separate "access code" for read-only access to financial information, which reduces the risk to some degree

I saw mentioned here and in other threads that mint.com is secure because it's 'read only'

it is simply not true;

to clarify:
Mint needs to access your financial accounts read-only since they don't do any transactions.
the user-name and password you provide is decrypt-able since they have to login.
if any hacker hacks their database and gets your user-name and password they can make any transaction they want.
unless
you provide Mint.com with a read only access token.

Note
the accounts don't have to be from 1 person or the same SSN.
if you have one account displayed in multiple accounts you can hide them in settings (Top left accounts)
you can set what category it should be marked in the future by selecting category > expand "Edit detials" > check "Rules"

Mint-Bills
In May 2014, purchased Check

Description
Get alerts when bills are due and easily make payments online.

I am going crazy with all the different credit card accounts for both me and my wife...I have been wanting to sign up to Mint already for a while, just nervous about security...Is any body concerned about it being hacked? I know anything can be hacked, but here all my info is in one place such as all credit cards accounts etc, Vs someone would have to hack each bank separately?

I used to use One Receipt together with mint.com so that I can see the details of the charges...now that One Receipt has closed down has anyone used anything similar?
Also does anyone use Waveapps? looks like it does everything that mint does plus keep track of receipts.

Personally I've only logged into Mint to add up the balances all my accounts. Never liked the way the other features worked. Does anyone use it for budgeting or verifying transactions? Interested in hearing your thoughts and how it works for you.

I want all my transactions in one place. If I have a paypal balance when making a purchase, that transaction won't show up on my credit card, thus it won't be in Mint.

Yes you can add your Paypal account to mint.  The balance is counted like a bank account and will show transactions.

Thanks! Not sure why it didn't see it last time, but it's connected now.

I have 2 Amex accounts linked that only have the primary cards on that login. Today for some reason all aus are showing up on mint even though it doesn't show up when I login to Amex. Being that it's dozens of aus its slowing down the whole app. Anyone have this? Any ideas? I unlinked it and linked it again and their all still there. Tia

There's no way around that. Even if your Amex login only shows the primaries in the account selection area, it's still showing all transactions for the account, including AU's (CMMIW). The transaction data is what Mint is pulling - no way to seaprate that.
