Got my check this week, although they told me they won't pay for the taxes I paid, they in fact covered that too.
It's a little more paperwork than Amex maybe.
The biggest pain is the paid return shipping and they will ALWAYS ask for the item back (another reason they may find to deny and it doesn't cost them, so why not...)

I hate using it
BUT it's a step up from amex who only offers up to $300

AFAIK you need to do it over the phone. If you call the # on the back of your card they should be able to transfer you to the right department.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

I filed a claim to return an appliance purchased from one of the big box stores. It just past the store's return time. I'll keep updating.

Yes, they then give you a label to send in the item.

anyone know if this is still accurate?

I know the link itself is but is the service still accurate. I have a chase freedom visa and I'm looking to return something that's past the return window. I never knew chase offered return protection like amex until I found this thread.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

Purchased a kapoteh from https://www.baldwinkapoteh.com.
It is not made well, too much material on one side etc.
They do not take Amex so I used my INK.
To return I would have to pay (shipping +) $20 restocking fee.
Is it worth while to go through Chase return protection? Or is it just going to be a hassle and better off swallowing the $20 and returning to manufacturer?

Why specify company name.  You can ask the question without ruining someones business...

Chase will make you fill out more paperwork and mail the item back...

Does Chase claw back the funds from the store if you use the return protection?

If NOT -- this could be a reasonable way to "return" the item without damaging the business and making them ultimately lose a sale.

I don't believe so. There was someone a while back who claimed that Amex did it to him but if I recall correctly he never brought proof

So people can be informed. This is not the place for the discussion, but you started it and I will finish. I'm disgusted when people say a Jewish owned company should not be called out for crap products or service.

Not exactly Chase Return Protection but Extended Warranty program. My claim was approved but they're asking for my debit card number to get credit the amount of the warranty replacement back to my card.

The email I got said this:
Quote
Your claim has been approved. In order to issue a credit to your debit card we need more information from you within the next 48 hours. Please call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-874-7702 and reference the claim number XXXXXXXXX.

I called them and after attempting to give them 3 different debit card numbers, I was rejected each time. Customer rep said "the debit card does not allow 3rd party returns." Um what...I've never heard that before. I felt a little uncomfortable after the phone call because I just gave out 3 of my debit card numbers linked to my main checking accounts to a stranger on the phone.

Anyone had this happen to them?

According to their website they offer a "7 day return guarantee (minus shipping) if you are not completely satisfied". Nothing about a $20 restocking fee. If you are within the 7 day window I would argue the restocking fee as it's not mentioned on their website.
