Interesting indeed. About what percentage of the original price would you say they pay for them?

craigslist is usually great, but you never know what you will get.  Wine stores also tend to be helpful for smaller boxes for books as they throw out 100s daily.  I've bought boxes from HD in the past and they were surprisingly much cheaper than most other locations (in Brooklyn that is) as boxes ranged from 0.59 to 1.79 each

Ive been to Uhaul locations that have an area for people to put used boxes for free. You can just take the boxes they have there, Ive never seen that many boxes there, but YMMV.
