So how about instead of deleting them, the 'censors' can hide them and anyone who wants can have the option to see them. IMO these types of posts ruin the flow of the thread and make it harder to find pertinent info.

Agree, but only for current discussions, I don't think that applies to old posts. Meaning if someone cleans up an old thread or older part of a current thread, I don't think it would take away from the lachluches. Nobody goes through old threads to get all the jokes, rather to see info, so it's best if it's clean and concise.

But this should involve tons of work, some posts will have to be edited rather then just deleted.

I never got a final answer about the mods I mentioned above.
Also, I don't remember where, but I'm pretty sure I've seen on a different forum that when you create a new thread, as you type it searches the rest of the forum with those keywords and suggests threads you might want to post in, instead of starting a new thread. Is there an SMF mod for such a thing? I think that would resolve a lot of the duplicate threads and threads started by noon.

not all +1's are equal. When Dan gives it, it means something. When a freshy does, not as much. Maybe only people who reach a certain level should be able to.
