I received a credit card in the mail today and the envelope was open, is there anything to be nervous about?

Random Credit Card Questions
« Reply #103 on: September 23, 2014, 12:21:21 PM »
I had a statement close with an $851.00 balance with payment due today. I went to make the payment and I see that there is a $0.00 payment due. I had approximately $975 in returns since the statement closed. My question is- do returns deduct from outstanding statement balance with regard to payment, interest etc.?

I think this board can really use a thread like this stickied to the top.

If you think there are too many stickied topics, perhaps get rid of the PSA or the CC chart (which I believe is full of dead links).

What's wrong with the "credit card for beginers" thread?
U don't have to be a beginner to qualify. ...

That thread is supposed to teach you how to get your first credit card(s). Not for people to post random q's they have.

Once this thread gets a 100+ pages long it will be real easy to find things.  :)

The point isn't for finding things; it's not supposed to be a wiki of all your problems. It's a place to ask any random Q that doesn't belong in a specific thread and expecting nice answers from people. Similar to this thread, except that ones in its own board, and I feel like many people don't read it because it's not in a commonly accessed board and also they expect noob questions.

I have a question. Can't find an appropriate thread.

Could I buy products like iPhones, or other electronics for example, and sell them on eBay for cost price to meet signup bonus thresholds and earn miles? Is that safe? Would it work?

Thanks.

Don't forget about eBay fees and shipping charges.

I've bought things a few times in my life (mainly from Woot when they actually had good prices) with the hopes of selling on eBay. It's really not so easy IME especially nowadays when people can normally find things priced just as low (or cheaper) on other sites than on eBay. But, if you can do it, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

+1, has to be a great deal. I bought a bunch of the nuud cases from groupon a couple months ago. I was making from $5 to losing $5 on each one. The last couple weeks I was losing closer to $10 on the last 3 I sold, but then my last one sold for close to $90 when all others were going for like $38 with shipping, so I broke even, but it's a risk.
As Yehuda said, before amazon bought woot, they had amazing deals - I'm looking at you sansa clips for $10 that sold on ebay for $25 - but now it's pretty crappy.  I don't even bother going when there's a woot off anymore.
