Depends what. Amex has been sending invites for cards with no life language so those are definitely worth taking advantage of..

Some claim that is the only reason they could come up with but they took advantage of multiple NLL they were sent.

I only did it twice, with no issues. IIRC the issues were with people using specific links. I have been getting repeated mailers.

I want to apply for Amex Mariott card and then apply for any Chase Mariott card to convert to Ritz later. I think I will not be eligible for chase SUB. Will I at least get approved?

about 2 weeks ago just downgraded saphire preffered after a year to the freeom flex......
this quarter chase has a benefit for the freedom flex that you get 5 points per dollar on the top category spend.... and it stacks with the 3% category...so drugstores would technically get 7%, the 5+2 (the first point u dont get twice),...............was wondering if i go into local cvs/walgreens and buy 1500$ of amazon gift cards, so now i would be getting 7 points per dollar x 1500...

would chase know i bought gift cards and not regular items?
would chase care?
is there a risk of account being flagged or shut down?
and would they say they are not honoring the promo?

Chase will not approve you for a card if you meet any of the terms that would disqualify you for the SUB. Amex will happily give you a card you can't get a SUB on.

Read the terms of the offer .I'd imagine you will be fine, but I'm not speaking from experience.

When Amex does a shut down following a F/R, do they claw back Marriott points + free night certificates (part of SUB)?

Trying to decide if should book a stay to “use up” points in account or transfer them to another party for safekeeping.

Another option would be to preemptively close Marriott cc, maybe this would help protect the points.

Pretty sure I already answered you in another thread, but Amex has never been known to claw back 3rd part rewards.

You did but was hoping to get more feedback as am sure many users here have either been shut down or know of others that were.

I know that Amex did claw back Hilton points after the whole grocery store fiasco about a yr ago.

Hilton and delta are much closer cobranded to amex than other 3rd party cards, as in you can apply for them on the amex site

All legit charges except not have 2 proofs of income as requested, only 1. Case was 18 yr old that opened a business cc.

Suggestions on what to do with certificates (and extra points)? I already transferred the max allowed into my account.

Hard to believe that mailers would trigger a shut down but I guess you never know.

I once even argued with them until they eventually gave in and gave the sub for the extra card.
