I just had this situation. I applied on a Sunday and got this message, Tuesday morning I logged into my Chase account and saw the new credit card account, so give it a couple of days.
She called chase to ask what the message meant. the rep asked for her info and put her on hold. came back on asked her what line she was looking for -wife panicked and said 5k - rep put her on hold again. came back and said "good news I got you approved for 6k". so this was super easy for me. Thanks all!

Anyone has this card and can tell me what the welcome bonus showed up as on the statement?

Wifes chase sapphire was shut down due to inactivity. AF was billed but missed the payment (my fault for trusting her to know when her account has a balance)
Any chance at getting it reinstated? how would I best go about that?

I found 30.000 MR amex points on an old BUSINESS BLUE .
they do not transfer to any airline. was a very old card.
anything one can do with those points?
they do allow me to book travel on their website but redemption is beyond horrible. 29.000 points for a 130 dollar trip???
please any advice?
I asked them if I open another amex card that does transfer points to airline if then I can combine points. answer was NO

Hey, So I opened a capital one credit card when I was 15 and lied about my birthdate on the application. (I used my real ssn, name, address etc.) Somehow they accepted me and didn't match my social with my birthdate. Fast forward 2 years, at age 17 after paying all my credit card balances on time, i had to call capital one for a particular question i had. For verification, the representative on the line asked me my birthdate and i incidentally gave the wrong birthdate that i put on the credit card application. She must have thought i was a fraud trying to get into someone else's account and she froze my account. A year or two later, i received a letter in the mail stating that they closed my credit card (i think it was due to inactivity). Fast forward 4 years.... i am now 21 and have opened numerous other credit cards from chase, citi etc (with my correct birthdate) and have excellent credit score. So I am left with a frozen account with a closed card with capital one.

1. What should my next step be? (I know it is crime to lie on a credit card application and could possibly get jail time)
2. Would I be able to sign up for capital one venture x card (with my correct birthdate) with no issues?

I really need advice. I would appreciate if @Dan you would be able to give me advice.
Thanks in advance.

DROPs  I don't believe the rep. Open a new card.  They may attach it to the same MR account as the one  you're looking at.   If they give you a new one, call and ask to combine them.

But first wait for the experienced DDFers to chime in and see if I'm totally wrong.

Exactly. Any new Amex MR-earning card you open will use the same account. And if you get even the Biz Blue Plus (2% back up to $50k in spend annually, no annual fee), you will be able to transfer to partners.

Has anyone ever received a Chase card, activated it, had it not work (in-store and online), but it had nothing to do with fraud or Chase shutdowns? Just got an IHG Premier, and this happened. Chase sees nothing on their end and doesn't even see the charges getting rejected, and I spoke to a few different departments. All they can do right now is send a new card, and hope that fixes the problem. Was curious if anyone has come across this before?

AMEX has no problem being paid by Citi.
Sending it through your bank - some people don't want a large deposit there.
If you're paying off several cards - na. Still not a reason to go through your bank.
If you're using the money for something else, then it may be simpler to put it in your bank account and spend from there.

Thanks!! Its a real clear run down.

May the transfer be any greater (few $100) than my Amex balance?

Also can you please explain what you mean with ''paying off several cards - na. Still not a reason to go through your bank'' anyway to cover two separate cards?

Again thanks for your advice.

There are few reasons to go through your bank.
If you're paying off more than 1 cc, you can usually make several balance transfers.
So na - no - don't.
If you can't make more than one payout, Or if it's not cc's you're using the money for,  then put the total amount in your bank account.
