If I received a Amex retention offer on 5/11/21 when can I safely downgrade it without fear of a clawback?
+1One nuance I'd like to understand better is whether the 1-year clock is counted from date of offer acceptance, versus date the offer was credited to your account.
. Also, does anyone know if Amex tends to punish people that add authorized users for bonus points, and then close the account in less than a year...For example, lets say I signed up for an amex CC in Apr'21, then in Jan'22 I added an AU for 10K MR...can I still close the account (both primary card and AU) in May of 2022?
Yes as long as that is the most recent activity on your card. If, for example, you upgraded the card after accepting a retention offer then you would need to wait 1 year after the upgrade date.
I spend a lot on cc. Is there any card that I can become a top-tier member either hotel or airline By just spending when I was flying or staying at hotel?
does Chase combine pulls if doing 2 business card apps the same day?
CC companies do not combine pulls, it is the CRA's that do it. The answer to your question is yes.
This is not enough information. How much do you separately spend on airlines vs. hotels every year? "A lot" is way too vague.
i dont spend a lot on airlines or hotels , i spend like 150k on cc per year
I should have posted in this thread. I am in the middle of a credit card application. Chase shot back a question that I have never seen. Not sure how to answer. Any immediate feedback would be appreciated.https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=6906.msg2590174#msg2590174
Based on this DP it should be pretty quick: https://travelwithgrant.boardingarea.com/2021/07/19/transfer-times-from-citi-thankyou-points-to-american-airlines-miles-posted-12-13-hours-later/
will the 35% in points be clawed back?
No
Quotes in a signature is annoying, as it comes across as an independent post.
