And that removes from the report? Isn't that like closing a card which is still on the report and counts for 5/24?
IINM yes. I think it goes away completely but I am not entirely sure. Hopefully someone else can confirm

Will applying the same day for a personal and a business card from chase be more than 1 pull?
YMMV

doesn't say you wont get a pull once you apply for an actual card.
they're saying they wont pull to show you pre-appoved offers.

Any ideas for which card to open next?

Looking for a card that has a downgrade path - that I won't have to close if I don't want to deal with the annual fee (for a better history and revolving credit).
Also would rather not have to hit a huge spend (not more than 3-4000 in 3 months).

I already have the freedom unlimited, sapphire preferred, ink cash, ihg, united. Delta, Hilton, Amex Everyday. C1 VX. Barclay AAviator.

Appreciate all suggestions.

In context of this, a different question.

At what point is keeping cards open for a longer credit history no longer needed?

My oldest non-AU card is from beginning of 2020, since then I have around 8 cards that I'll keep open long term.

Would opening cards now then closing after a year going to hurt my credit score?

Only the oldest card needs to stay open. It makes your credit history longer.
(IF you've got cards open 26 years, 21 years and so on, closing 26 yo card may  make no difference.  But if your cards are 6 years and 1 year, the additional 5 years of credit history will be significant.)
Every time  you lose credit your score gets a ding.  Usually only for a short time. So when you close cards, try to move the credit line to another card from the same bank. But then when you open a new card with them, you may have to go to reconsideration and move credit to your new card because they wont give you any more total credit.

Got it, thank you for the clear answer!
There isn't anything about the average age of account?

The average age of account is what the age of oldest account is about. The older the better.

Even when closing a card, it will continue aging on your report for another 10 years. After 10 years, it will drop off the report and no longer count towards the average age of your cards.

It's 7 years for derogatory information, otherwise 10 years.
