FTFY.  Some CU's will transfer your payment to your share account as opposed to giving you a CC credit balance if the charge hasn't posted yet.

You know by now I have a difficult time inferring things properly... Nothing new ;)

That's what I thought. Just confused about what PillanSmye wrote.

Pillan knows what he's talking about. However, let's make things as simple as possible...

If you made a small charge on DCU for example.  Sometimes it will take 3-4 days for the charge to go from pending to posted.  If you were to push a payment to DCU before the charge actually posted, DCU will not let you have a credit balance on your CC account until the charge posts.  They will shift the payment to your savings shared account.  Then when the charge posts, you will still owe money on your CC.

More interested in the right method as opposed to the "simple" method.

They are both correct. Purchase something every few months on the card and you'll be fine

What's a savings share account? Never heard of that.

So if I make a $0.50 purchase on Amazon, and I wait until it posts to submit a payment, I'll have properly recorded activity thereby preventing a shutdown due to inactivity?

Once you've made the purchase, that's activity right there!

When you make the payment, it's recorded as activity again.

That's 2 sources of activity

Yes.  Purchase a $0.50 Amazon gift card.  Wait for the charge to go from pending to posted, then pay the charge.

Saving Share account is usually a part of the sign up/membership process of a CU

Yes, but the purchase of the gift card will count as activity even before you make the payment.  Purchase a $0.50 Amazon gift card.  Wait for the charge to go from pending to posted, then pay the charge.

No

IMO, it's best just to PC from a diff Citi card.

It's a waste of a new app

My father has some HAS points that are expiring.
What can he do with them? Would anyone buy them?

Risking in terms of what? The answer is that you are risking your "friend" not paying you. Aside from that I am not really sure what you are referring to.
