Go to Amex application status checker online and put in your social. You'll see how many apps went through.
IIRC he was applying for chase cards.

Ah, my bad. Don't know why I thought it was Amex.

It used to be that when you opened a new Amex card, the date of opening would be of when you got your first Amex ever. So if you got your first Amex card 6 yrs ago, if you opened a new account today, the new account would show up on your CR as being open since 2010. They stopped doing that, so every new AU account now brings down your AAoA.
That's not a problem as I just opened my first card so wouldn't mess up age of accounts but I don't want this account to show up 20 times on my CR and I don't think Amex will like how 19 AUs in my name sounds.. Also what's 5/24?. I think better to stick with making up names and not giving social.

not at all, just have a good reason to tell them why you need it other than amex offers, and you'll be good to go..
How many cards will they let with my name ss and DoB on? Will each show up on my credit report separately?
If you are trying to get my attention/assistance and I'm not responding, please feel free to PM me. :)

Amex couldn't care less. Chase is denying people for chase branded cards if they have more than 5 new accounts on their reports dated within the past 24 months, even AU accounts. Yes, each will show up separately.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

First credit card period, or first Amex? Because if it's the latter, it will still make a difference. AAoA is calculated with all your cards. So if your AAoA is like 5 yrs now, adding a bunch of new Amex CCs will lower your AAoA substantially.

Thanks for that info, so I rather make up names and get cards w/o SS number so that I can apply for a Chase card in the next 24 months.

First card period, but still want to leave Chase opportunity open.

Amex will see that I'm adding AUs with my name and SS and DoB...

My point was they could not care one bit and you call the CRAs and have them removed

So it won't effect Chase's 5/24?

What does Dan and you guys do - make up names and get them added without SS numbers or use your own info and have them removed?

Is it bad to end the month with a negative balance on Amex cards?

How do statements that close with a credit affect your utilization?

It reports as $0.
