Didn't see it on the fr wiki. Did you mean prepaying?

But this is not considered prepaying, if the balance posted but the statement didn't close, right?

Your oldest Amex card is new compared to your oldest account, so closing it is not a big deal.

I have 3 open Amex cards (and a few closed) that report back to 1992 and are my "oldest" accounts. It would be a much bigger deal for me long term to close them than for you to close yours.

Even closed accounts count towards AAOA though and stay on your reports for up to 10 years from DOLA.
Great, thank you so much

Friend of mine who is pretty uneducated in miles/points tells me he booked a $100 ticket through an Amex travel rep, and they gave him 10k points. What is that? And how come I never saw this discussed here? Mods, please delete if this is against forum rules.

You sure it wasn't the opposite, he used 10k for a $100 ticket?

That's what he told me. He could have been mistaken though.

I just got the annual fee of my CSP. I'm wondering people's opinion.
I also have the ihg card which is a much lower annual fee. What are the benefits (not points) of the CSP over the ihg? E.g insurance for travel and rental etc... Or is it the same stuff as it's from chase

Will a pull from a increase on a chase ink combine with a pull for a new ink application?

Is the expanded award availability that comes with the United credit card the same as what comes with a United Silver?

I upgraded a Hilton card online, but the picture online is still the old card. If I spend on it now will it count toward the new card? Chat rep says yes, dunno if he knows what he is talking about.

Same day and CRA, yes.
"LESS IS MORE" It is the cumulative effect that kills deals!!! How many times do I have to say this?  >:(

I am having a big spend on a hotel coming up - which card should I use to maximize the points? Is there a card that gives 2X/3X points on hotels?
It's a Shangri-La so non of the branded cards could work...

Thanks!
