How did you ascertain that from my post?
First of all, I do have debt, and I'm not ashamed of that, though I am working to get out of debt.
Any cards I don't PIF are interest free.
I don't however pay before the bill cuts, though I do try to end the month with cards not maxed out.

Edit: Unless you saw my post a few posts back ;)

Was not trying to shame you. I just see that you care about the rate.
I'm glad that you are not paying any interest on your CC debt, hatzlocha getting out of CC debt!

I would hope  that most that play these games dont have CC debt.

Everyone? No. Anyone? Yes

Obviously anyone - possibly majority even.
But it's a fact of life. And I am not a debtor, I am an individual who has debt. I honestly don't think it's something to frown upon. Are there threads about such topics?

CB would be the best place.

Ye but they talk more about practice/credit than theory and financials - I mean threads about financial planning, budgeting, saving etc. We should start some

Nothing wrong with debt.
However, CC debt is pretty much frowned upon.

I've actually consolidated all my debt onto credit cards; I feel much better owing the bank than owing friends. Of course a loan would be best option, but IME that's not practical.
Maybe would have been possible before latest app o rama, now that I think of it.... Or maybe in 6 months I'll actually take a loan... That's why we need threads for such topics

Unsolicited advice for you or anyone.
Get out of CC debt before you open any more cards.

Quote from: http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/53213
Perhaps you’re young and haven’t gotten involved in credit cards or building up your credit yet, or perhaps you’re just scared of getting involved with credit cards.
If it’s the latter, you have good instincts. The credit card points system is partially subsidized by the millions of Americans who fall into the trap of debt, buying things they can’t afford, and paying huge amounts of interest to the banks.
If you’re susceptible to that behavior, then don’t play the game. Cut up all your cards, pay for things in cash, and be happy not being in debt. Any gain from the points system will be obliterated by interest payments
.

I think that's a contradiction.
In response to your last post - there's no connection. Debt and credit cards are independent.
In response to your prior post - opening new cards is part of a strategy to save money in the long run.
In general - I would be happy to continue this discussion, but in a format where there are no assumptions and all statements / positions are able to be properly fully presented

i hope someone can help me out...

I got a call from Amex (800-453-2044) asking for payment in full on LARGE credit card balance (new account) not due yet. Rep I spoke with wanted to put me to pay balance in full or put me in in FR. I talked her out of it and she wanted me to schedule payment on the "please pay by date". Rep told me that they are a small team in Ft Lauderdale and they specialize in large accounts. My payment won't be ready until a week after the please pay by date. I did confirm that I can call and cancel the payment "and reschedule to different account". What is my best option? Would she get an alert that I cancelled the payment?

L. Leave payment and let it bounce
G. Cancel payment and pay a week later when I get the $
B. _______ (fill in the blank)
T. all of above
I will not respond to PM about the UPS method.

I will not respond to PM about the BBLD method.

Ouch, definitely don't let the payment bounce, can you borrow the money from someone for a week?

I would say better to cancel it then to let it bounce, amex takes returned payments very seriously.

Any way to have Amex transfer credit from a charge card (PRG) before I close down the card due to annual fee?
If you are trying to get my attention/assistance and I'm not responding, please feel free to PM me. :)

I really don't know, I've never heard of this happening, usually with a lot of spending on a new card you either get FRed or you don't.
