Hi.  Anyone can help me figure out the differences between car rental insurance with AMEX everyday card vs visa signature and the difference between coverage that those cards would offer a primary card holder vs an authorized user

I'm looking to make my brother an authorized user on one of my cards.  He'll use it (primarily) for a car rental in Israel. I'm looking for a card with CDW and no forex.  Earning more than 1 ppd would be a bonus. Which of my cards should I sign him up on? (I have most of them.)

A friend of mine closed an Amex CC with 40k mr in it.
Is there any way to get ahold of it?

If it's less than ?x? days after closing, he can reopen the card and get his points back.

When dan refers to consumer cards being counted for 5/24 does that mean chase ink/cash? Or is that only the hyyat, marriot and alike?

Bit confused what dan means by business cards from amex and chase don't count?

The Ink and the Ink Cash are both business cards, they (shouldn't) won't be counted towards 5/24.

The Hyatt, BA, IHG and so on are all consumer cards, they will show on your credit report and be counted towards 5/24.

Marriott, United and SW have a business and consumer version, business won't consumer will...

Rule is if it shows on your credit report it'll count if it doesn't (*most* business cards don't) it won't.

I don't know how long. Perhaps someone else can chime in.
I don't think it's a problem to tell Amex why he wants to reopen. It's a good, not sneaky reason.

I think he says that he froze the account.

Didnt understand that line.  Didn't know we could do such a thing.
Ttn, if you leave things the way they are, you won't hit your spending goal and the card is useless. So sooner or late you're going to have to contact chase and let the chips fall where'd they may. Good luck.

Your friend should just call Amex and lay it on the line. If it's too late to reopen his card, he'll be told so.  (Then he can HUCA to see if that's accurate.)

Just SM asking to change account number because possibly one of cards were lost. Make it clear that there were no fraud charges you are aware of.
If you are trying to get my attention/assistance and I'm not responding, please feel free to PM me. :)

Cmiiw. Amex biz cards do not count towards 5/24 because they don't show up in your credit report. OTOH chase biz cards (ink & others) do count towards 5/24 even though they won't show up on ur credit report, because chase can see them without your credit report.

Correct. Every publicly available chase card will count as one of your 5 towards 5/24, but there are 5 that can still be applied for, once you are already 5/24 or over.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.
