Not sure if this is the right thread.
Is it my imagination that credit card companies in general are having less limited sign up bonuses for the past while?

When you say less limited, what do you mean?

Will I have issues transferring points from my wife’s CSR account to mine, if she legally never changed her name? Does anyone have experience with this?

You'll be fine, no need to have matching last name.

Correct. I should have worded that better.
But besides for those, do you think I'm correct about my feelings?

I'm not asking specifically about chase. But the freedom card is $150 for the past while. It used to have $200 every now and then.

I don't think so, but I do see the 3 night Ritz has been gone, but I believe that has to do with the SPG Marriott merge

What would the merger have to do with it?

Can anyone comment on the FX rate differences between Visa/MC/Amex on no-FX fee cards?  The consensus seems to be that MasterCard offers the "best" rate, Visa one of the worst.  Is there truth to this?  All things considered in terms of earning points, would a MC be more appropriate in terms of monetary savings for someone living abroad (in terms of points-earning cards, let's say CSR Visa vs. Citi Prestige MC, forget about transfer partners for the moment).

I'm just thinking that if CSR is marking up the rate by 0.5%-1%, that may deduct from the net value of earned points compared to a MC that may markup less.

Call/chat with Chase.  Ask if their conversion rates are different between Visa and MC. Ask for the Israeli rate for each.
Then report back here.
