I hate telling people to completely avoid credit because its so important in today's financial realm.

But someone like this poster shouldn't be in this game at this point in their life.  Missing payments, paying interest, paying late fees, paying annual fees.  This game's not for them.

The fact that UR's can be cashed out for statement credits at $0.01/each and this hasn't been done yet is all you need to know.  Worrying about the value of points towards first class airfare instead of using them against debt.  And now they're gone and can't be used for anything.

My wife’s AMEX Plat AF posted on 6/8. The plan is to cancel before 7/8 to get AF refund. But she just remembered that she has no other MR card and she isn’t ready to transfer the points to any program yet. The plan now is to apply for the Blue Business Plus card to keep the points active. My question is— the the ME programs combine the moment she’s approved and assigned a Business Plus card? Or does she need to receive the card first to activate the MR account? Or worse, does she need MR activity in the Business card first?
