For the first 2, as noted in other threads, you can only refer from co-branded cards to the same family of cards (although you can refer to both personal and business). For the Gold, you should be able to. When you click on the referral link, you don’t have the option of switching between cards?

Yeah I was particularly surprised by the Gold. It only lets me refer for other Gold cards..

I have an Amex credit card that had a statement close with a $700 balance, next day I made an online purchase for ~$2500 and then had to cancel that order, so it refunded to my card. Now Amex shows a remaining statement balance of $0. Does that mean they credited the $2500 refund as a 'payment' against my statement balance- i.e. do I have no payment due this month now and the $700 will only be due next month (as $700 of the $2500 purchase)?

Had it with them as well its like a return but in payment form instead of just reversing the charge.

Isn't that strange? In theory it sounds like an interest-free way to carry whatever balance you want indefinitely, no?

Very cool, makes sense.

Another good way to avoid interest, even if you’re not in a position to just make purchases and cycle the CL, you can just buy/return.

Wouldn't be surprised if they flagged you for that, if it was happening to often. I'd be careful.

Wouldn't surprise me. But at least as a one-time solution to get a month interest-free if one needs it....

Definitely true. Use it sparingly, as it may cost you your (amex) life.

Can I get a second card on a existing credit card. If yes how? I'm looking to get it on a chase account.

With chase an authorized user will have the same card number. Or u can tell them the card was damaged. That works with other issuers.
