I thought the fine print possibly included our blanket consent to periodic hard pulls at their discretion once we have their card.
No, it didn't. (If you look at your credit report from the CRA, you will see it flooded with pulls from companies you're with. They're constantly keeping tabs on you. That's what soft pulls are for, and what you consented to. Hard pulls are only for new applications for credit.)
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

So their voluntarily raising my CL and doing soft pulls does not hurt my credit rating/report?

Correct. (Free B*? What could be better?)

Actually,  you're totally wrong.  A current creditor can hard pull you any time they want.  It doesn't happen in practice, but that doesn't mean they can't do it.

I bought an item on my personal gold, and I actually lost it. I am looking to file a claim under purchase protection, anyone have experience? Any tips? It's it an easy process?

Thanks in advance.
1.There's a purchase protection thread. SIYF.
2.it's easy. Do it online, make sure you have your receipt.

I was suggested to actually do a little banking with them first.  Get some deposits, pay some bills.

It doesn't hurt to go in to a branch if one's near you.  The bankers can clear larger deposits faster, which might come in useful if you're cycling the credit line.
Go into a branch to apply or to deposit funds?

1) How long after a home closing is it safe to apply for CCs?
2) How much of an effect on acceptances does a closing have?

After everything is finished, you can apply as soon as you want.

Some people prefer to apply before the new mortgage gets reported, becasue usually a new installment at 100% debt is going to drag your scores down.

I went in-branch to apply, because CC approvals go towards the bankers loan approval value for the quarter.  And that same banker can clear a check that otherwise might get a hold.  Seemed like a win-win if I'm trying to flip the credit line multiple times a month

You should definitely close it and apply again (either with a NL offer in 60 days or in 12 months).

Does requesting a CLI from Citi count towards the one application per 1-7-65 days?
