Doesn't make sense, where do you check your reports?
I've also seen that they report the highest balance as an amount that never actually posted on a statement, but had been on the account at some point in the cycle.

Correct.  Most issuers report highest balance and payment history, but none of this is considered by FICO.

This information should not be confused as "mid-cycle" reporting.

If I have $10,000 credit line, and my balance is $9,600, is it bad? (I'm paying it off before my closing date)

In terms of FICO scores, as long as you pay it off before the statement closes there is no issue at all.

Some issuers may worry about utilization that high, but IME most will consider this usage as a positive when applying for a CLI, especially if you have a habit of paying your balance in full every month.

One of my cards was used up to $28.5K out of a $30K limit this month, but I paid it to $0 before the statement closed.

Great, I always worried about that. I have a card that I transferred some credit limit over to another account, and now the High Balance is much more than the total credit limit. So no worries about that?

Is there any way to generate an American Express referral link instead of referring by entering a email address?
