Hi! I have good credit and would like to apply for a credit card that you get me some free nights hotel for this summer.  What is the best credit card to apply for and that has the most free nights after spending of around $3,000?

Any recommendations?

Obviously depends where you want to stay but SPG is a solid choice.
Or any of the hotel cards with two free nights like Hyatt, Hilton, Ritz, Fairmont....

100k/3k amex platinum. Nets over $1500 after selling points and airline credit. Should get you a few nights in a decent hotel.

if i have a negative balance on amex and chase cards that are closed how long will it take them to mail me a check w/o me calling up

I didn't try it on a closed account but you can do it online via the dispute center.
