Is there a website or a link in the forums that lists cities (or countries) that will show you the likelihood of acceptance of Amex and Discover cards? Was wondering if it was worth bringing the Amex/Discover cards to Israel, Latin American countries, etc.

To Israel? Any noticeable differences in foreign exchange rates in your mind?

Awesome. Thanks for your response. But out of curiousity,  besides the rate, is there any other reasons to take advantage of an AMEX in israel?

Well.. the same reasons why you'd use it in the US.

I personally find UR and Chase to be much more valuable and useful to me. I would rather use that. But maybe it's easier to dispute purchases in Israel with AMEX or better purchase protection with overseas purchases? Just curious if there are any significant differences based on anyone's experiences.

The only time it is worth even having a Discover card in your wallet is for the 5% categories.  Once those have been maxed, it should stay in a drawer unless there happens to be a good Disco Deal.

It's definitely not worth taking it out of the country unless you need to scrape nasty stuff off your windshield.

Exactly. in the first year it could mount out to be 10% or 3% depending on the card but that's the only reason why I'm considering it.

Yup. 10% off on Amazon is pretty good.

Hello,

I have read these boards for awhile but I have never posted before. I will be making aliyah this coming week and plan to do some traveling after settling down in Israel.

I am 22 years old so my credit history isn't very long, probably around 4 or 5 years old. According to my FICO score that I receive with one of my credit cards, my score is currently 763. My newest card that I received is the chase sapphire preferred with a credit line of 15,000. I mainly applied for this card for the 55,000 miles advertised with the card, that I qualified for. As stated I do want to do some traveling a lot of which will be back and forth between the United States and Israel.

So essentially my question is, what card/cards could I apply and qualify for that would help me attain extra miles?

I was looking at a couple more chase cards including the chase ink plus business card however I had just received the sapphire preferred card about a month ago and was unsure of my chance of getting more approvals from chase.

I see that you are relatively new here, so I'll go easy.  People here tend to get annoyed when someone posts the same question in multiple threads.  You can still keep one of them and delete the other (and avoid the heat).

Or if you're buying something which you know is cheaper elsewhere, and want the Price Match protection
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Or you like having reps that speak English and pick up right away, something amex is woefully lacking.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.
